FOR FEES SEE
TRANSMITTAL FORM.

This form (above) is used to record cattle with NACA.
( A different form is used to register bulls by visual inspection, contact the office if you need one.) You may wish to make a copy of this application foryour records before mailing it. Please check your registration certificates carefully when you receive them back. Errors made by NACA staff are corrected at no charge for 30 days. Errors discovered after 30 days, or made by the breeder, require a correction fee. Original registration certificates mustbe returned for correction. If this application is complete and correct, your completed work should be mailed back to you in 3 working days or less.

SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED

The breeder of the animal(s) to be registered or computed should sign the form, and their name and number should appear at the top right. The second signature line is for the owner of the sire(s), if it is not the same party. In the case of a cow purchased bred, the bull's service and bull owner's signature should have already been recorded with NACA on the transfer form, and it is not necessary for them to sign a second time on the registration application.

BRAND & TATTOO REQUIREMENTS

This information is intended as a convenient reference, and does not
supercede the current Rules & Bylaws. Consult your handbook for more information. The animal to be registered must be branded or tattooed before the application is submitted. If both a brand and tattoo are used, they must be the same, except the first letter denoting percentage is not required in the tattoo when a number brand is also used. Cattle are individually identified by standard numerals and letters of the owner's choice,

Except - Pureblood Cattle: The letter P may be used as the first symbol but is not required. Percentage Cattle:  The first symbol is required as follows -  A = 1/2. B = 3/4, C = 7/8.

Brand & Tattoo Locations
First, use the letter "R" for right, "L" for left, "B" for both.

Then, use the letter "E" for ear (tattoo), "S" for shoulder. "R" for ribs, "H" for hip.

Example:  27 BE means the animal is tattooed 27 in both ears.

27 RS means the animal is branded 27 on its right shoulder.

Complete only if the animal is to be registered and also transferred to a new owner. Leave blank if breeder and owner are the same.

*COMPUTEONLY

If your registered cow has produced a calf which you don't intend to register, you may still record it with
NACA. The calf will then appear on the cow's lifetime production record, and go into the herd book as progeny of the bull. When kept up to date, this is a very useful tool for analyzing and documenting fertility and productivity. Also, a computed animal may be upgraded to registration later if it meets the requirements, and by remitting the registration fee for its age at that time.
